49ers cornerback Richard Sherman is taking the blame for the Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs. He says it’s not quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo’s fault, despite that narrative.
Sherman called blaming Jimmy G for the Super Bowl loss “foolish.” As he explains, “Jimmy doesn’t play defense” and didn’t blow a 10 point 4th quarter lead.
The All-Pro corner was the one who gave up the huge play to Sammy Watkins that setup the go-ahead touchdown late in the 4th quarter. Sherman was also the one that failed to stop running back Damian Williams on the go-ahead touchdown.
