The Green Bay Packers plan to start quarterback Malik Willis against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport report.
Jordan Love likely needs one more week to rehab his MCL sprain, Pelissero and Rapoport add.
Love was listed as questionable for Sunday’s contest as he continues to work his way back from an MCL sprain he sustained in the Packers’ season opener. He could return against the Minnesota Vikings next week, per Pelissero and Rapoport.
The Packers star was initially projected to miss anywhere between three-to-six weeks following the injury. However, Love surprised many when he returned to practice as a limited participant throughout the week. The 25-year-old remained hopeful that he’d be able to return to the lineup this week.
“I’m hopeful that I can get to that point where I can get in there, but we’re just going to take it day by day,” Love said.
Willis will make his second straight start for Green Bay after leading the team to a win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. The Liberty product will face off against his former club Sunday for the first time since getting traded to the Packers in August.
