Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones is expected to play Thursday against the Detroit Lions after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports.
The Packers will monitor the workloads of Jones and wide receiver Christian Watson, who’s set to make his season debut during the NFC North matchup, Pelissero adds.
Jones was injured during the season-opening 38-20 win against the Chicago Bears after racking up 41 rushing yards, 86 receiving yards, and two total touchdowns.
The Packers’ offense has struggled without Jones, Watson, and left tackle David Bakhtiari, who’ll miss the Lions game due to a knee injury.
Green Bay didn’t score through three quarters against the New Orleans Saints before an 18-point explosion in the fourth quarter that earned the win. Quarterback Jordan Love was the team’s leading rusher against New Orleans with 39 yards.
Jones is coming off a 2022 campaign with 1,121 rushing yards, 395 receiving yards, and seven total scores.
