The Los Angeles Lakers have significant interest in signing free-agent wing Bruce Brown, sources told The Denver Post’s Mike Singer.

The Lakers can sign Brown for up to $12.3 million annually with their full mid-level exception.

Brown originally signed a two-year, $13.3-million contract with the Nuggets last offseason. He declined his second-year player option earlier in June. Denver can only offer him up to $7.8 million in free agency.

The 26-year-old averaged a career-high 11.5 points last season. Brown recorded 12.3 points, four rebounds, and 2.5 assists against the Lakers in the Western Conference finals, eventually helping Denver win its first NBA championship against the Miami Heat.

Los Angeles’ free agents include D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura.

Free agency opens June 30 at 6 p.m. ET.
