The Portland Trail Blazers and New Orleans Pelicans went at it hard in Game 4 of their playoff series. Leading 3-0, the Pelicans wanted to finish out the sweep at home and rest, awaiting their next opponents. And they did.
Tensions came to a head in two plays during the first half of Game 4. The refs were even pretty revved up, as you can see below, this ref took things a little too far. Say whatever you want, that looks intentional. At least this guy isn’t officiating youth basketball.

Looks like the culprit was none other than referee #10, Ron Garretson, Here’s a little bio via NBA Refs association on the son of former NBA official Darell Garretson (1967-94).
Ron enters his 31st season as an NBA official. Ron has officiated 1,845 regular-season games, 234 playoff games, and 6 NBA Finals games over his 28 seasons in the NBA. In addition, Garretson has two years of CBA officiating experience and two years of high school officiating experience in Arizona. Garretson earned his Associate of Arts degree from Golden West Junior College. He played football and basketball at Servite High School in Anaheim, Calif. and was recognized for his athletic achievements in 2000 when he was inducted into Servite High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame. He currently resides in Gilbert, Ariz. where he enjoys spending his free time coaching youth sports and playing golf.
