Red Sox star rightfielder Mookie Betts could be traded in the off-season. He will be a free agent after the 2020 season and his recent comments have indicated he plans to test free agency.
“I love it here in Boston. That doesn’t mean I want to sell myself short of my value.”
Those kinds of statements either lead to an attempt by teams to sign a guy before free agency hits or trade them in order to not walk away empty handed in the event they leave in free agency.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the belief is that the Red Sox will listen to trade offers for Betts this winter.
