Delaying the start of the baseball season is welcomed news to Red Sox fans.  Obviously they don’t want the season to be delayed because of a pandemic, but it is and it will put off the beginning of what figures to be a bad season.

After trading away star outfielder Mookie Betts earlier in the offseason, news came out on Thursday afternoon that ace pitcher Chris Sale will undergo Tommy John surgery.

This is the first year of a five-year, $145 million extension Sale signed with the Red Sox.  He’s also coming off a the worst season of his career.
