Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was disqualified from Sunday’s 26-20 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in the second quarter.
Nacua seemingly punched Seahawks linebacker Tyrel Dodson after Matthew Stafford threw an interception and the play was dead. The wideout was flagged for unnecessary roughness following the incident.
“It’ll be a great learning opportunity for Puka,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said of the incident, according to Rams Wire’s Cameron DaSilva. “He’s emotional. That’s one of the things we love about him, but he’ll be able to learn from that.”
Nacua caught one pass for 11 yards before leaving the contest.
Week 9 marked Nacua’s second game back from a knee injury that sidelined him for five contests earlier this season.
The 23-year-old is a key member of the Rams’ offense after posting one of the greatest rookie seasons ever for a wide receiver. Nacua finished 2023 with 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns.
