Radford beat Liberty on Sunday to win the Big South championship and punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. Because it’s March it came down to a shot at the buzzer.
The game was tied at 52 with only 7 seconds left and the ball in the hands of Radford’s freshman guard Carlik Jones. He dribbled the ball down to 3 seconds before making his move.
Jones’ move was to launch a deep three at the buzzer. The ball went in, the Radford faithful went crazy and their NCAA Tournament ticket was punched.
Did we mention it’s March? Because it is and somehow basketball is a little different in March or that’s at least what the media wants us to believe.
