The Bryce Harper sweepstakes are in full swing. The free agent outfielder and his agent Scott Boras are seeking a record setting deal.
The Philadelphia Phillies remain the favorites to land the 26-year-old, despite rumors of a secret deal with the Dodgers.

Philly has met with Harper’s agent multiple times, at both the GM and Winter Meetings.
Phillies met with agent scott boras regarding bryce harper at gm and winter meetings, and manny machado will travel to meet with Phillies Thursday. they and chisox are the 2 teams known to be interested in both mega stars. though the chances of 1 team signing both seems remote.

There are still several teams that remain interested in Harper, although a couple of them have stated they don’t want to hand him a record breaking contract.
It will likely come down to whether the Phillies are willing to sink a ton of money long-term into Harper or they decide to spend it elsewhere.
If you ask me, I would spend the money elsewhere. These long record setting deals rarely work out for the teams that hand them out.
