On Monday the Seahawks announced that they had signed an extension with head coach Pete Carroll.  The 67-year-old will remain in Seattle through 2021.

The deal is reported to pay him $11 million per year, making him one of the highest paid coaches in the NFL.

Currently 9-6, the Seahawks have clinched a playoff berth and are the 5th seed in the NFC.  Carroll turned the team around quickly after they missed the playoffs last season for the first time in the last six seasons.

With $11 million annually coming his way, Pete’s going to be able to buy a lot of gum.  He owes Russell Wilson a little bit of that cash, he’s the one making things happen on offense.
