Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman, Paul Goldschmidt, was getting some extra work in on one of the Rockies backfields when he was hit in the head with a pitch. The pitch knocked his helmet off, but he seemed unfazed by the pitch.
Goldschmidt would be removed from the game, but was completely fine. It’s hard to tell from the video if it was a fastball, but from the sound of it, the ball made solid contact.
With the start of the regular season just a few days away, maybe it’s time to have the starters get their work done in the cages.
