When it comes to the New England Patriots, there’s never a shortage on drama. Reportedly Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski had no fun last season, and didn’t enjoy himself at all.
“He didn’t enjoy himself in 2017,” NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran reported on Boston Sports Tonight Monday. “He did not have a good time, despite the fact his body was in a better situation than it’s been in a long time — ever maybe — despite the fact that he’s one of the most dominant players at any skill position.”
But wait, there’s more. Reportedly the team didn’t want the news that Gronk was working with Tom Brady’s trainer to leak. Interesting. Brady’s trainer Alex Guerrero reportedly butted heads with Belichick this past season
“The team didn’t necessarily want him to train the way he wanted to train. … He was pissed and the season played out.”
That’s true. The Patriots also didn’t want me to write a story on Gronk doing the TB12 diet and working with Guerrero. https://t.co/m3deK09hUX

Gronk agreed to talk to me about his new diet and when the Pats found out, they told me it couldn’t happen. But since Gronk really wanted to talk about it, he did. In the end, I still got a 1400-word feature out of it, but it was annoying how the Pats tried to stop the story.
The Patriots trying to stop a story, or cover up a story? Yea, this sounds familiar. You would think by now the Pats would stop trying to control the press, it’s always comes back to bite them in the ass.

If Gronk does end up retiring, let’s squarely place the blame on Belichick, and the Pats culture. That would be very satisfying. Still want Gronk to lace em up for at least two more seasons. I’m thinking the party boy ain’t ready to call it quits on football just yet.
