Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game with an MVP caliber season, his first as a starter. They came up just a little bit short against two of the greatest to ever do it in Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
After the loss, Mahomes took to Twitter to thank the fans and told them the Chiefs would be back.
Thank you #ChiefsKingdom
This hurts now but we will be back love y’all for y’alls support!— Patrick Mahomes II (@PatrickMahomes) January 21, 2019
The Chiefs will certainly be back, especially if this season was just a glimpse of things to come for the former Texas Tech quarterback in the NFL. Mahomes, who is the favorite to win the MVP this season, threw for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns.
Incredible numbers for a first year starter.
