Panthers safety Eric Reid dove headfirst at a sliding Ben Roethlisberger and caught the Steelers quarterback in the head with his shoulder.  A play that happens from time to time.

What doesn’t happen is an ejection resulting from the play.  In fact, it almost never results in an ejection.  But that’s exactly what happened on Thursday night to Reid.

You have to wonder if the ejection was more about the one doing the hitting than the hit itself.  Does he get ejected if he isn’t currently suing the league?
