35 year old Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis will be hanging up his cleats at the end of the 2018 season. He will also be playing in four less games than he had planned.
On Friday the NFL announced that the former Walter Payton Man of the Year will be serving a four game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance. The substance according to Davis himself, is an estrogen blocker.

Davis released a video explaining himself and calling the suspension one of the saddest days of his career.
“Unfortunately, this is some of the things that happen when you take supplements. I’ve never tested positive for steroids or HGH. This is not one of those situations. It ended up being an estrogen blocker that triggered a positive test for me. I just want you guys to know that in no way would I ever do anything to cheat this game or try to create a competitive advantage over anybody.”
This is by far one of the saddest days of my NFL career. I never thought that this would happen to me. I’ve worked extremely hard to do things the right way on and off the field. Panther Nation please know that I am not a cheater. #KeepPounding pic.twitter.com/zUppMfm6yk

If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying. Right? Almost everyone who gets caught says they’re innocent. They usually don’t put out a video explaining themselves, but the truth is you never know who is telling the truth when it comes to these things.
