Panthers quarterback Cam Newton went down with a mid-foot sprain in his first preseason action last week. He left the stadium in a boot following the game.
Newton was on the practice field on Monday throwing passes and the expectation is that he will be on the field for the Panthers first game of the regular season against the Rams on September 8th.
In fact, head coach Ron Rivera told reporters on Tuesday that there is “no doubt in his mind” that his franchise quarterback will be ready for the season opener.
