The Padres appear to be looking to add another star to their lineup, a lineup that already features Manny Machado and his $300 million salary. According to The Athletic, San Diego has been in trade talks with the Boston Red Sox for outfielder Mookie Betts.
The Padres have been in active trade talks all offseason to bring in some talent to surround Machado with. With the Red Sox they may have found a motivated trade partner. Any reported deal would likely include the dumping of all or some of Wil Myers’ salary.
