Giants left fielder Chris Shaw came close to robbing Padres outfielder Franmil Reyes of a home run in the bottom of the 5th inning of Tuesday night’s game. The only reason he didn’t rob the home run was a Padres fan in the stands robbed him of the chance to make the catch.
After review the home run stood. It was a close call as to whether or not the ball was in the stands when the fan touched the ball, but in the end it didn’t matter.
The Giants won the game 5-4 and we can’t skip over the fact that both teams are out of the playoffs, so who really cares?
