Orioles first baseman Chris Davis topped one of Cal Ripken’s Orioles team records. No it wasn’t his consecutive games played streak, nobody will ever top that.
Davis is now the Orioles all-time leader in strikeouts. He topped Ripken’s record in 13 less seasons.
Becoming Baltimore’s all-time strikeout leader is the cherry on the top of his terrible season. Davis is currently “hitting” just .155 with 8 home runs.
Good thing the Orioles locked him up with a 7 year $161 million dollar deal a couple of years ago. He has four more seasons after this one to add to his new record, assuming, of course, he’s still seeing playing time with the O’s.
