Via The Oregonian:
Nicholas Federico, 38, of Salem faces four counts of sex abuse, four counts of official misconduct and one count of online sexual corruption of a child, authorities said in a news release. Federico is on administrative leave “pending the outcome of the investigation,” according to a statement from the Woodburn School District.
Officers first received a tip in July about a video depicting Frederico in an “intimate act” that was circulating on Instagram, sheriff’s officials said.
Investigators then discovered that the teacher had messaged at least one Woodburn High School student using the social media app Snapchat, sheriff’s officials said. The communications started an intimate physical relationship, they said. The student was in high school at the time and is no longer a student, Landers said.
The student and teacher sexual relationships seem to be more prevalent these days. It might be time to start teaching students online.
