Via Cincinnati.com:
An Ohio State Medical Board committee sorted through 27 petitions submitted late last year suggesting 22 conditions. Several, such as chronic pain and HIV/AIDS, were already on the list established in state law. Others lacked requirements such as research or support from physicians.
The panel rejected petitions for conditions the board turned down last year because they felt the new evidence submitted didn’t meet the bar: depression, insomnia and opioid use disorder. Also rejected: “being a Bengals or Browns fan.”
They clearly didn’t have enough Browns and Bengals fans on this committee. If they did being a fan of one of those teams would have been approved without question.
