Former President and NBA fanatic, Barack Obama, was the keynote speaker at the Sloan Sports & Analytics Conference. We were just listening to the audio transcript and found this little gem, which is just another reason we miss Obama as the Commander in Chief.
Interviewer: You’re an NBA All Star, you’re a free agent this offseason, every team is offering you the max contract, which team would you choose to meet with in free agency and why?
…
Obama: I think it’s fair to say that there are organizations in the NBA or the NFL, and may not win every year, but have created the kind of culture that I was referring to earlier. They’re smart, they’re well run, they’re focused on team, they treat everyone in the organization with respect, and that is the kind of organization that I would want to be apart of. And so I will say that over the last 15 years in basketball, San Antonio would be a great example of that.
Obama has a ton of jerseys in his collection, as he was visited by the NBA champions each year while residing in the White House. I think he may just have to pull out the old Spurs Jersey for old time sake. What do y’all think, good call for Obama to take his talents to San Antonio?
