The NTSB is investigating the accident, including any role heavy fog played, and a final report isn’t expected for at least a year.
Images from a security camera show the helicopter flying into clouds in the moments before the crash.
It was taken by a security camera around one mile from the crash site in Calabasas, California.
It shows the helicopter, a Sikorsky S-76B with the registration N72EX, barely visible in low cloud, close to the 101 highway.
The helicopter’s instrument panel was destroyed in the crash and most of the devices were displaced, according to the NTSB’s investigative update.
