Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic won his 14th career grand slam on Sunday when he beat Juan Martin Del Potro in the 2018 U.S. Open Final.
And when you’re friends with dudes like Gerard Butler, of course you’re going to scream “This Is Sparta” with your favorite actor. Gerard posted:
This is Sparta !!!! So proud of my boy Novak winning the US Open tonight. There are few warriors like this man. He’s been inspired by Leonidas for years so this has become our good luck war cry. All I can say is thank God he wasn’t playing Andy Murray
Djokovic told the Mirror back in 2015:
“We have known each other for several years and we are good friends. He happened to be in the city over the last couple of days, so I invited him to come along. It was very nice of him to be here and show me support.
That line is still a classic, Gerard Butler, not so much. The guy has been cashing checks off that 300 performance for years. Just try to name another movie he was in.
