Nick Saban is known to have his fair share of mid-game meltdowns on the Alabama sideline. At halftime of the Iron Bowl he had an all-time meltdown.
The Alabama head coach was not at all happy that Auburn was allowed to kick a field goal at the end of the half. The Tigers moved the ball down to the Crimson Tide’s 34-yard line with no timeouts and the game clock running.
The Auburn receiver was tackled with one second remaining on the game clock, but that shouldn’t have been enough time for the Tigers to run another play. The referees inexplicably stopped the game clock and allowed Auburn to kick the field goal.
The kick made the score at the half 31-27. Saban gave the officials an earful before heading to the locker room.
