Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts is in a battle for the starting job with sophomore Tua Tagovailoa. A battle that could lead to one of the QBs transferring to a different school.
During Alabama’s spring game on Saturday, head coach Nick Saban was caught on a hot mic criticizing Hurts. The criticism came after Hurts took off and ran with the ball instead of throwing it.
“Without me saying it… (inaudible) two years. I mean the third team quarterback can move the team right down the field throwing the ball.”

It would appear as if the “battle” for the starting quarterback job is already over. That is probably enough for Hurts to go ahead and start the transfer process.
