The Eagles managed to make it back to the playoffs with a 24-0 win over the Redskins on Sunday. Despite the win it wasn’t all good news in Philadelphia, especially for quarterback Nick Foles.
Foles left the game early with a rib injury and ended up missing out on a $1 million bonus because of it. He had an incentive in his contract that would have paid him the money if Philadelphia made it to the postseason and he played in 33 percent of team’s plays.
The Eagles made it to the postseason, but Foles only played in 32 percent of the team’s plays because of the rib injury.
Eagles’ QB Nick Foles has a $1 million incentive if Philadelphia goes to the postseason AND he plays 33 percent of team’s plays. His bruised ribs that prevented him from finishing today’s game now mean he played 32 percent of Eagles’ plays – 1 percent short of $1 million. Ouch.

On Monday it was reported that Foles should be okay to play in the playoffs. Tests showed that he didn’t suffer any broken ribs during Sunday’s win.
#Eagles QB Nick Foles has bruised ribs and tests today revealed no break, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The expectation is he’s good to go Sunday vs. the #Bears. I’ll be joining @gmfb from Philly shortly.

Nick Foles is back in the playoffs after taking over for an injured Carson Wentz again. The legend of Nick Foles is about to get even bigger. Good luck slowing him down.
