Oliver Ekman-Larsson of the Arizona Coyotes was hit with a penalty and then hit with a flying elbow. That wasn’t the odd part of the exchange, it was who hit him with both.
The referee called the penalty on Ekman-Larsson, then skated over to escort him to the penalty box. But before he do so he elbowed Ekman-Larsson in the face.
Don’t break the rules around this referee unless you’re okay with taking a flying elbow to the face. This guy doesn’t play.
