Kelvin Benjamin was traded to the Buffalo Bills halfway through the season in 2017. He became expendable after he failed to live up to his number one receiver billing.
Not to mention the year he tore his ACL in training camp, Cam Newton was the MVP and the Panthers went to the Super Bowl. They realized that season they didn’t need to force the ball to Benjamin, as they did his rookie year.
Benjamin has decided it’s a good time to trash the Panthers and his former quarterback. In an interview with The Athletic, he says he should have never gone to Carolina and he would have been better off with an accurate quarterback.
“I should’ve never went to Carolina. Truly, I just think Carolina was bad for me. It was a bad fit from the get-go.
“If you would’ve put me with any other quarterback, let’s be real, you know what I’m saying? Any other accurate quarterback like Rodgers or Eli Manning or Big Ben — anybody! — quarterbacks with knowledge, that know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball. It just felt like I wasn’t in that position.”
Benjamin double down on his comments on Twitter admitting he is salty and claiming to now be free.
I’m just crazy then !!! I was the one who buried my mom and skip the grievance process to get back and help that team …. let be real it’s was all fake .. and to be honest i was salty Who wouldn’t be …. I just ben holding it all in. And now I’m free. Hate me or love me ..
What a ridiculous thing to say. Benjamin is a terrible route runner, who can’t create separation. His best year in the NFL was his rookie year. That year the Panthers made a decision to force the ball to him and that’s what he did.
Anyone who watches this guy play will see he is never open. He doesn’t know what separation means.
