Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has no plans to tank in the final six games of the season. His goal is to do the exact opposite.
Carr doesn’t want the Raiders to end up with the number one overall draft pick in April, because if they do, they might just draft a quarterback.
Via Pro Football Talk:
Carr plans to play for his job the rest of the season. He did his part on Sunday by leading Oakland to a win over the Cardinals.
The win dropped the Raiders to the third overall spot. Carr will need to keep winning to drop them further down in the draft order.
Carr has a lot of work ahead of him. He will not only have to defeat his opponent, he will have to defeat some on the Raiders who want to tank for a new quarterback.
