League News: The NFL is testing new protective facemasks with surgical or N95 material, per @espn. NFLPA medical director Thom Mayer is advising players to wear modified facemasks this coming season to help fend off Covid-19. NFL engineers are currently testing prototypes with Oakley, and it’s something that is strongly being considered due to the pandemic. “Yes, it’s a possibility. Back in early March, I suggested ways to handle the helmets and the facemasks. The league’s bioengineers are testing prototypes with Oakley.
