As an insurance policy, the Cowboys signed Andy Dalton one week ago to be Prescott’s backup.
Dalton got a one-year, $3 million deal with Dallas. And while the the nine-year Bengals starter said he still believes he’s a starter in the NFL, he realizes the Cowboys are Prescott’s team.
For at least one season at a time for now.
