The 2-6 Nebraska Cornhuskers jumped out to a surprising early 7-0 lead against Ohio State.  So they tried to catch the Buckeyes off guard with a surprise onside kick after the touchdown.

It apparently was a surprise to the Nebraska kicker too.  His failed attempt went in the books as a one-yard kickoff after he barely kicked the ball, then tripped over it.

Luckily for Nebraska their defense held up and kept Ohio State off the board.  But not for long.

This is the type of onside kick that happens when you’re a two win team heading into your ninth game of the season.
