Paul Pierce has had no problems transitioning into retirement after nearly two decades in the NBA. The former Boston Celtic has become a mainstay on ESPN and announced his latest venture back in June: cannabis.
Partnered with Eaze Wellness, Pierce launched “The Truth CBD Remedies,” according to a release.
CBD is short for cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive cannabis plant extract that can be used to treat trouble sleeping, stress and pain relief.
Pierce’s line of CBD offerings includes a vaporizer battery, Vesper, and a cartridge line and is targeted to athletes.
“I created The Truth CBD Remedies to offer athletes a product they’d not only enjoy, but fully trust – a reliable product I use myself,” Pierce said in a statement. “I’m passionate about making sure athletes have support before, during and after the main event.
Pierce began using cannabis after he was the victim of a life-threatening stabbing in 2000, while he suffered from PTSD and anxiety.
Now he may have some more anxiety, as he has run into some trouble regarding a loan.
