News broke on Friday evening that former Boston Red Sox player Hanley Ramirez is being eyed in connection with an ongoing state and federal investigation. Boston recently parted ways with the former star, possibly to get ahead of these charges.

Rumors are that Ramirez is linked to a large drug trafficking ring that is linked to a murder in the Dominican Republic.
Hanley Ramirez is involved in some deep shit….
Cora and the Red Sox really dodged a bullet.— Boston Strong (@BostonStrong_34) June 22, 2018
@HanleyRamirez involved in DR murder circa 2015, per source @kirkmin. We have another Aaron Hernandez situation. At least the @RedSox got out from under this quicker. News must’ve circulated around the league fast, as no one has signed him or so much as sniffed him.

I guess that clears up why the Red Sox released him and why he hasn’t been signed by another team.
What it doesn’t clear up is, what is going on with the athletes on Boston area sports teams? They have some interesting hobbies off of the field.
