Mississippi State guard Nick Weatherspoon was stretchered off the court during Friday night’s loss to Tennessee. Weatherspoon went down hard attempting to score at the rim and remained down while play continued. He was then landed on by his brother, Quinndary, who was attempting to score on a fastbreak.

How the referees let a guy lay under the basket while play continued is mind blowing. At any time the ball can come back the other way, as it did.
Weatherspoon would be stretchered off the court with a neck injury and taken to the hospital.

Mississippi State later provided an update on Weatherspoon which said he had movement everywhere.
Nick Weatherspoon is communicating well and has movement everywhere. He’s really sore and undergoing a cat scan now. #HailState #prayers

That’s good to hear. It’s still beyond comprehension that the referees allowed play to go on with someone laying underneath the basket.
