Mississippi State fired head coach Joe Moorhead after a their bowl game loss to Louisville. He lasted just two seasons as the Bulldogs head coach, finishing 6-7 this season after going 8-5 in his first season.
The bowl game loss combined with off the field issues involving his players ultimately cost him his job. Prior to the Music City Bowl game, Mississippi State lost their starting quarterback Garrett Shrader after a fight with a teammate.
