Money fight!
The latest proposal to get the fans some Major League Baseball this year, which is expected to be rejected by the MLBPA, proposes a major pay cut for the top earners in the league. They’re still going to make more money than 99% of the people on the planet, especially the 30 million people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic, but it’s not good enough.
Under the proposal the highest paid player in the league, Mike Trout, would see his annual salary drop from $37,666,666 to $5,748,577. It’s not ideal, but nothing is ideal and there’s only a certain amount of money to go around. Everyone will be taking a hit due to this pandemic.
