Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera pulled off the hidden ball trick on Monday against the Minnesota Twins. Miggy, known more for his hitting than his ability on the field, caught shortstop Ehire Adrianza and the first base coach sleeping.
If you look closely at the play, Cabrera gives Adrianza a little shove when he places the initial tag on him. It took the young player’s mind off of what he was doing and left him open for the second tag to be placed after the fake throw back to the pitcher.
It’s a brilliant move.

You have to keep your eyes on Cabrera this season. He’s pulling out the hidden ball trick in Spring Training and could pull this move on someone in the middle of a long season as well.
