39 year old UFC fighter Michael Bisping announced on his podcast that he was retiring from mixed martial arts. The former UFC Middleweight champion says issues with his eyes have forced him to this decision.
“Obviously, I’ve teased this for a long time now. I might fight again, I might not. Unfortunately, it’s not a fight I’m announcing. I’m going to announce my official retirement from mixed martial arts.”
Bisping would go on and explain how he began seeing flashes of light in the corner of his left eye following his last fight with Kevin Gastelum.
With permanent damage already done to his other eye, calling it a career seems like the smart thing to do. And what a career it was, the British fighter fought an impressive list of fighters.
