Avenatti can be heard saying he’ll ‘blow the lid on this thing’ in recorded phone calls.
He is charged with attempts to exhort millions for his silence on the scandal.
The lawyer also faces fraud charges for failing to tell Franklin about a settlement.
Avenatti claims he is being unfairly targeted because of the Stormy Daniels case.
Nike denies any wrongdoing in the college basketball scandal.
