Maryland lined up without a right guard and took a delay of game penalty on the first play of the game.  They did so to honor Jordan McNair, who died after off-season conditioning drills.

Texas declined the penalty and the tribute to their fallen teammate was a success.  A touching moment for the 19 year-old lineman who passed away too soon.
