Puig suggested in meeting to Marlins he’d like to play again for Don Mattingly (and of course Derek Jeter). He’d also like to play near his Miami home. Was plus he trekked to San Diego for confab. Dickerson, Calhoun among others under consideration. Avisail might be a tad pricey.

Puig in Miami would be an interesting fit. The challenge has always been to get him to focus on baseball. In Miami, near his home, that might be difficult. But Mattingly managed Puig before and did so in Los Angeles, which is full of distractions. If anyone can pull it off it;s Donnie Baseball.
