Many Redskins fans feared their season was over when quarterback Alex Smith went down with a broken leg on Sunday. Washington has to now rely on backup Colt McCoy to carry them to the playoffs.
McCoy no longer has to carry the Redskins alone. According to multiple reports, following their veteran backup tryouts, the Redskins have signed 32-year-old Mark Sanchez to backup him up.

Another opportunity for Sanchez to earn an NFL paycheck and yet another example that the league is blackballing Colin Kaepernick. This will be Sanchez’s 4th NFL team, first since 2016, after failing to make a roster last season.
The good news is Sanchez does have some playoff experience, if needed and he does have experience holding a clipboard, which will definitely be needed.
