Los Angeles Clippers forward Marcus Morris Sr. was fined $35,000 for “recklessly striking Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic above the shoulders” in the first quarter of Game 6 of the teams’ first-round series, the league announced Wednesday.
Morris was ejected from the game at the time of the incident, which the Clippers ultimately won 111-97 to clinch the series.

Doncic called it a “terrible foul” after the game, citing previous run-ins with Morris throughout the series. He added: “I really had hoped the first game it wasn’t on purpose, but looking back at the foul in this game, you know what I think. It just – I don’t want to deal with that kind of player.”
Morris stepped on Doncic’s recently sprained ankle in Game 5, though the Clippers veteran denied the contact was intentional.

Doncic didn’t escape discipline from the NBA’s vice president of basketball operations, Kiki VanDeWeghe, for his conduct in Game 6. The All-Star was fined $15,000 for throwing the game ball off an official’s legs in the third quarter.
