The All-Star shortstop/third baseman is telling friends in Miami that he prefers the Yankees, and if the offers are close, he will be headed to the Bronx, according to Jim Bowden of The Athletic.
Machado met with the Yankees on Wednesday for approximately 90 minutes at Yankee Stadium and later dined with GM Brian Cashman that night.
He also met with the White Sox on Monday and Phillies on Thursday. His meeting with the Phillies — whose team president, Andy MachPhail, has a previous relationship with Machado from Baltimore — lasted about four hours.
There was no word from the Machado tour if any offers were made by the three teams. But it’s safe to say if none were made he can expect those to start rolling in soon.
