Malcolm Butler, a former New England Patriot and offseason acquisition by the Titans, still can’t escape the questions about the Superbowl snub.
Why were you benched for last season’s Super Bowl? Why did Patriots coach Bill Belichick not play you for the biggest game of the year after having you start 15 games in the regular season and two in the playoffs?

“Everywhere I go, people ask me why I didn’t play in the Super Bowl and stuff like that,” Butler said in an interview with NFL.com following last Thursday’s training camp practice. “Bar, restaurant, bathroom — it doesn’t even matter. They ask me why I didn’t play and say, ‘I’m sorry …’ I don’t want to hear that s—!
In other words, Butler either doesn’t really know why he was benched, or he’s unwilling to share, possibly because it could be damaging to him if it was revealed. Maybe one day we’ll find out the real story. I’m not holding my breath.
