Back in 2009 during an episode of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” Rob McElhenney’s character on the show, Mac, wrote a love letter to Chase Utley. In that letter he mentions having a catch with the then star Phillies second baseman.
Utley responded to the letter and even appeared on the show. The two never had a catch, until Friday night at Citizens Bank Ballpark. Utley returned to Philadelphia to throw out the first pitch and there to catch it was McElhenney.

Hopefully they captured the moment for an upcoming episode. The fact that Mac’s jersey had sleeves on it tells me they probably didn’t.
