On Friday Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball, who spent just one year at UCLA, was asked about a Yahoo Sports report that came out earlier in the day that details several NCAA programs paying players. He responded to the question by saying everyone is already getting paid, so they might as well make it legal.
“Everybody knows everybody’s getting paid. Might as well make it legal.”
Among those named in the FBI investigation is Ball’s Lakers teammate Kyle Kuzma.
Ball went on to say that he wasn’t paid while playing at UCLA. But his comments seem to imply it’s a poorly kept secret.
“Everybody knows everybody’s getting paid. Might as well make it legal,” Lonzo Ball says on the subject of college athletes getting paid.
